At one time Stalin's accomplices from NKVD (People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs) were searching for those digging tunnels to Bombay or London but failed to. Whereas a tunnel between Kiev and Tbilisi, rather, a canal between the Dnieper and Kura rivers was, indeed, dug out. One man alone - Raul Chilachava, did this. Due to him Georgia discovered practically all best Ukrainian poets, and Ukraine - tens of wonderful Georgian ones. He has written 70 books in half of which he presents himself as a translator-conductor, in the other half he is a poet - Georgian and Ukrainian.
