Russia. At the 15th Moscow International Book Exhibition-Fair, held September 4-9, the Jewish publishing was represented only with one stand of "Gesharim/Culture bridges" association. More than 40 books issued by the publishing house during the recent year were represented here. Among them - published over the last two weeks "Family book" by an Israeli writer Efraim Kishon, novel of an outstanding philosopher Martin Buber "Gog and Magog" and "The book of times and events" dedicated to the life of Russian Jewry since new era's beginning till February 1917.
Much in customers' demand were all three stated above books, as well as the biography of a well-known actor Veniamin Zuskin wtitten by his daughter A.Zuskina-Perelman and "The history of Jewish people". Although Boris Yeltsin, who visited MIBF, didn't reach the "Gesharim" stand, a famous PR politician Gleb Pavlovskiy bought the book by M.Kakhane "Never again". Perhaps, he intends to read at home or to look for some fresh ideas in the informational struggle against Islamic fundamentalism.

Uzbekistan. Uzbek-Israeli Joint enterprise "Nurbulok" began its activity in Nurat city of the Navoi region. A medicinal water "Chashma" is bottled here. The enterprise possesses an equipment to fill up with mineral water 15 thousand bottles per 24 hours.

Russia. September 7, Voronezh Jews celebrated a double holiday - two Jubilees of the Voronezh Jewish community.
Chief Rabbi of Chernozemiye Nosson Vershubskiy said, firstly, this year - 5763 - is the 100th Anniversary of the Voronezh synagogue: in 1902 the premises were roofed and the first service took place on Rosh a-Shana in 1903.
Secondly, the Voronezh Jewish community is 150 years old. The first metric book of Voronezh Jews was published in 1852. It was the time when the town began welcoming retired soldiers, who, having gone through fires, waters and brass pipes of canton battalions and army, preserved their faith, culture traditions and created the community, spiritual successors of which are present Jews of Voronezh.

Georgia. A new Jewish kindergarten is opened in Tbilisi. Now there are 15 kids aged 3 to 6. Hebrew and Jewish traditions along with usual educational program will be taught there. The kindergarten will be supplied with kosher food.
Beside this kindergarten, there has existed, for almost 10 years, a Jewish kindergarten attached to culture organization "Joint".
