Odessa. What is a shop? A strange question, you'll say... Firstly, this is the premise, secondly - shop windows, refrigerators, goods, price lists, shop assistants. All this is right. But this is right only when it concerns any usual shop (it doesn't matter whether it is big or small). However, all this is far from being main in the content and destination (this high word is absolutely relevant here!) of an absolutely new shop, which opened in the main Odessa synagogue yard in 30, Richelieu Str.
The shop is called "Kosher". From the mere name it is clear that this is the place where people, who observe or have decided to begin observing kashrut, can find everything necessary. All foodstuffs sold here are kosher. People can come here not only for shopping, but also for advice, recipes of meals, traditionally served in Jewish families on Saturdays or holidays. By the way, the first visitors could already learn what and how to cook for Hanukkah.
"Kosher" started its full-fledged life traditionally: mezuzah, guardian of Jewish homes, was attached to the entrance, and Shlomo Baksht's, Chief Rabbi of Odessa and oblast, blessing. Mazl tov, "Kosher"!
