A big volume can (and should) be written on this theme. I tend to believe Mikhail Kalnitsky, an acknowledged professional in the subject, will once makes us happy with such work. But at present we are to be satisfied with any opportunity to read an interesting and useful edition widening our knowledge in the sphere of the Jewish history, culture, social life. Moreover, we have always experienced a necessity in a concise and, at the same time, rich in content guide - book on this theme.

Their role in the development of trade, industry and other spheres of social activity in Bakhmut is vividly reflected in the book by A.G.Kopyl "Bakhmut, capital of "New America". The plants producing brick and tile in Bakhmut belonged to the Jews I.Vengerovsky, I.Lubetsky, G.Sangurskaya, A.Palant, B.Frantsuzov and I.Khenkin. The Jews also owned steam and windmills.

Under this motto the Poltava Jewish community welcomed the presentation of a book of essays "To be remembered" by the community members- journalist Vera Chazova and doctor Mikhail Sparber. The idea of publication is to recollect Jews-countrymen who left a good memory.
