Belarus. Mournful ceremonies dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the execution in the Minsk ghetto took place in the country's capital. A ceremony was held near the monument to Minsk ghetto victims - the so called "Pit", where five hundred people were killed on March 2, 1942. The mournful ceremony was attended by Israeli and German Ambassadors, diplomats, leaders of Jewish organizations and religious communities, famous political and social figures of Belarus and authority representatives.
During the years of Belarus occupation 800 thousand Jews became genocide victims.

Moldova. Avigdor Lieberman, National Infrastructure Minister, visited Moldova. During the visit he met with Vladimir Voronin, the President of Moldova. They reached an agreement about the organization of a number of arrangements in memory of Kishinev pogrom victims of 1903.
Besides, they solved the question about tourist visas for Moldova citizens wishing to visit Israel. Previously this issue could be decided only in Kiev, where the nearest Israeli consulate is situated. Now the Israeli Consul visits Kishinev twice a month. Before leaving Israel, Avigdor Liberman, a former Kishinev native, visited the street where his family lived before repatriation.

Russia. The Orlov community charity center "Nesher" held a memorial evening of Emanuil Mendelevich. He was one of the founders of the city Jewish community, a famous politician, lawyer, and publicist.
Belarus. According to Yuriy Dorn, the President of the Jewish Religious Association of Belarus, representatives of Jewish communities are planning to make a public appeal to the President Alexander Lukashenko. It concerns the reconstruction of the Minsk synagogue building. The synagogue building, which accommodated artist studios, was destroyed in autumn 2001.
According to Yuriy Dorn, "practically all state institutions that received our letters concerning this incident are ignoring the initiative of the synagogue reconstruction".

Russia. The Novokuznetsk Jewish community celebrated the anniversary of its community center. The center regularly celebrates all Jewish holidays, in particular Shabbats, which usually gather 25-30 people. In the "Rev Tov" club all comers study Jewish traditions and customs. Ten community and charity programs work owing to the financial support of "JOINT" - it provides food sets, drugs, patronage, and a musical studio.
