THE PAGES FROM THE HISTORY OF POLTAVA REGION
The book of the famous country researcher M.I. Goldstein is dedicated to the history of Jewish community in the Poltava region. This research is a result of the long work, which was done by a voluntary group of historians of the Poltava region. The group consisted of three historians: L.S. Vaingort, M.I. Goldstein, E.Z. Tsirulnik. The book describes the history of life and activities of Jews in the Poltava region from 1804 to 1917. It tells us about pogroms in 1880 and 1905, the First World War, about the participation of Jews in the First World War, and about the events of the 1917 February Revolution.
The book includes some materials from the National archives of the Poltava region, from scientific works and oral recollections.
It also contains a valuable list of appropriate literature and photos from the XIX and early XX centuries.
